Airport General Manager
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
Balram Biodali’s extensive knowledge and keen attention to aviation efficiency has led Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as the most efficient airport in North America, enabling the airport to thrive in the most challenging markets. Mr. Biodali combines operational expertise, integrity and selflessness to provide quality leadership across the Atlanta airport. He oversees all aspects of airport governance, including operations and ATLNext, a multi-billion dollar capital improvement program designed to pave the way for Atlanta’s growth for the next 20 years. During COVID-19, Mr. Biodali created a comprehensive reopening playbook that was instrumental in supporting ATL’s recovery efforts. With guidance from the Federal Aviation Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as health and safety guidelines changed, Mr. Biodali steadfastly encouraged collaboration among stakeholders, team building for aviation employees and adaptability in uncertain times. Throughout the pandemic, he participated in daily conference calls with the Airports Council International and other large hub airports to share best practices and information from federal agencies in Washington, DC and the CDC.
He made it his goal to restore customer confidence and ensure the airport was a healthy facility with COVID-19 safety protocols. The airport has since won the Airport of the Year award from the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC).
During the peak of the pandemic, Mr. Biodali was our most ardent advocate for our mission-critical employees. He rose through the ranks, fully appreciating the thankless work they do to keep the airport running safely and optimally at all times. Morale never dipped because Mr. Biodali made sure employees felt valued through hazard pay, special meals, social media posts, intranet spotlight features, and other incentives.
All of his actions and directives reflect his commitment to the three key focus areas of our organization’s strategic plan: people, purpose and performance.
