The economic impact study surveyed businesses in cities from Salmon Arm to Osoyoos to gauge the growth of the tech industry in the Okanagan.
According to a press release, Accelerate Okanagan is asking businesses to complete a 20-minute survey by June 30, with results expected to be released in the fall.
“It's more important than ever that we support each other as we come together in our goal of building a world-class tech ecosystem in the Okanagan and foster sector-leading companies across the region,” 4AG Robotics CEO Sean O'Connor said in the release.
The survey will measure jobs, revenues, investment and what opportunities and challenges exist for tech companies in the Okanagan.

Krista Mallory, manager of the Central Okanagan Economic Development Board, said it's important to track industries in order for them to grow.
“Benchmarking and understanding the performance of the sector is important to inform policymakers and allocate resources,” Mallory said in the release. “We look forward to seeing the results and discovering new opportunities for Okanagan businesses.”
The last economic impact study of the Okanagan's tech sector was conducted in 2017, but Accelerate Okanagan said the pandemic and other local events have changed the tech sector enough that updated data on remote teams, tech company exits and acquisitions and more is needed.
“Research like this has made Accelerate Okanagan the backbone of the Okanagan tech ecosystem – a central hub helping startups in the region stay connected and access resources, and we're committed to proving we can punch above our weight,” O'Connor said.
