At Tesla's annual shareholder meeting held on June 13, shareholders approved Elon Musk's $56 billion performance-linked compensation package, despite previous litigation. In addition, shareholders agreed to relocate Tesla from Delaware to Texas. In his characteristic style, Elon Musk outlined ambitious technological advances at the meeting. He predicted rapid advances in self-driving car technology, including the possibility that Tesla owners could connect with future “robo-taxi” vehicles and earn passive income.

Tesla's Annual Shareholder Meeting (ASM) on June 13th had all the elements of an Elon Musk event: hype and hope took center stage. Shareholders, investors (more individual than institutional) unhesitantly approved Musk's $56 billion performance-linked compensation package. A Delaware judge had backed out his “unfathomable package” in January, so further legal battles may follow. Shareholders also approved the “re-domestication” of Tesla.
