Pune police have arrested the woman and her friend for the risky practice of hanging from the roof of a building to shoot a video. The two have been identified as Minakshi Salunkhe, 23, and Mihir Gandhi, 27. A third person, who was shooting the video, is absconding.

According to an IANS report, the Bharti Vidyapeeth police station managed to track down the duo after a video of their risky antics drew outrage online. In the video, Salunke is seen hanging from the rooftop of a multi-storey building while Gandhi, who is lying on the roof, holds him up.

The video quickly went viral, sparking backlash against the Pune duo for risking their lives for social media clout, with hundreds of people criticising them for setting a bad example at a time when dangerous stunts are gaining popularity on social media.

After the video went viral, many social media users urged the Pune police to take action against Gandhi and Salunke.
“After we got information about the video, we launched an investigation and were able to trace the culprits. They were summoned to the police station late last night and arrested. We have booked them under Section 336 of the Indian Penal Code, among others,” Senior Inspector Dashrath Patil of Bharti Vidyapeeth police station told IANS.
However, Patil said the duo would not be detained as the offence was minor and would attract less than six months' imprisonment and/or a fine. He added that a manhunt was also on for a third person involved in the act, who had filmed the entire act on his mobile phone.
