A video of women dressed in Indian attire serving customers at a Swiss restaurant has gone viral on Instagram, melting the hearts of Indians with the waitresses seen in colourful salwar kameez.

The video was shared on the Instagram handle @soulmates_xpress, dedicated to an Indian couple living in Germany. “Who would have thought that in Switzerland you would find a piece of India that is more Indian than mainland India? Walking into most Indian restaurants in Europe is like a cultural time machine. The rich traditions and vibrant décor is sometimes more Indian than India itself!” reads the caption of the video shared on Instagram.

“The Indian restaurants and waitresses in Switzerland are more Indian than those in India itself,” reads the text accompanying the Instagram video.
The restaurant is packed and the waitress is seen tending to customers, when she realises she is being filmed and smiles and nods towards the camera.
As the video progresses, another waitress can also be seen wearing a salwar suit, and the camera then pans to show an Indian-style designed restaurant, which also features a portrait of a Hindu goddess on one of the restaurant's walls.

The video, posted a week ago, has been viewed 11,900 times and garnered more than 4,000 likes and numerous comments from Instagram users.

“I visited this restaurant two days ago and the waitress was super nice,” another Instagram user wrote.
“Wow, it's not just suits, they're wearing dazzling uniforms, the owner must be a good guy,” a third commented.
However, this is not the first time that a foreigner has been seen wearing Indian attire. Last year, a video of a German woman wearing a blue sari with a black blouse, bangles and earrings went viral on social media. In the viral video, the woman was seen dancing to Falguni Pathak's hit song “Chudi”.
