News city Delhi Atishi's fast enters third day, AAP says concerned over her health
A day after Communist Party of India General Secretary D Raja expressed support for the AAP protests, Communist Party of India (CPI) Politburo member Subhasini Ali also joined the fast.

As her 'Paani Satyagraha' entered the third day on Sunday, concerns were raised over Delhi Water Minister Atishi's health after she tested positive for ketones, reported the Ahmed Aadmi Party (AAP).The party said doctors who examined the minister during the day reported that her blood sugar level was below 73mg/dL and blood pressure was in the range of 125-56mmHg, with many senior party leaders expressing concern over Atishi's positive ketones, saying it could be “dangerous to her kidneys”.
Quoting Minister Atishi reiterating that he would continue the indefinite fast till Delhi receives its “fair quota” of water from Haryana, AAP MP Sanjay Singh posted on X on Sunday: “On the third day of the indefinite fast, the Minister's (Atishi) ketone levels have tested positive and his blood sugar and blood pressure levels have also shown a drop.”

Meanwhile, Atishi claimed that Delhi is not getting enough water as Haryana has closed all the sluice gates of the Hatnikund barrage and vowed to continue his indefinite fast over the issue.In a video posted on X on Sunday morning, Atishi claimed that Delhi's water supply remains inadequate as the sluice gates of the Hatnikund barrage have not been opened by the Haryana government.
She said, “…I request with folded hands the Haryana government to open the sluice gates of Hasnikund Barrage and let the water flow for the people of Delhi.”
“The residents of Delhi should get the water to which they are entitled. This (fast) will continue till the Haryana government gives them (Delhi residents) the water to which they are entitled and till the sluice gates of Hasnikund Barrage are opened,” she added.

Meanwhile, AAP MP Akhilesh Pati Tripathi and former cabinet minister Jitender Singh Tomar called Atishi an “iron lady”, while AAP Delhi unit president Gopal Rai alleged, “If the seven BJP MPs in Delhi had lost, the BJP would not have dared to conspire and steal water from Delhiites.”
