Days after a video of a dead rat found in a Hershey's chocolate syrup bottle went viral, another shocking incident took place at Devi Dosa eatery in Nicol, Ahmedabad, where a customer found a dead rat in a bowl of sambal that he was being served. In the video, the dead rat can be seen floating in the sambal.
The video, shared by the Instagram handle @ahmedabad.updates, begins with a tiny mouse being served to a table in a disposable white bowl along with other food, before giving a glimpse into the restaurant's kitchen, where large quantities of sambal can be seen stored in open containers.

The video sparked outrage on social media, with several users slamming the eatery. Reacting to the video, one user wrote, “When will they wake up and bring in strict hygiene rules?” Another commented, “What is the hygiene situation in Gujarat these days? I request the Food and Drug Administration not to take sneaky money and approve such hotels.”
“Restaurants like this should be closed forever and the owners should be jailed,” said a third user.
“We appeal to all business operators in Ahmedabad city to be extremely careful about the food they serve to customers so that such incidents do not occur,” Bhabin Joshi, food safety officer, Amdabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), told ANI.
Recently, a family discovered a dead mouse in a bottle of Hershey's chocolate syrup they had ordered from a quick commerce company.
Earlier, a 26-year-old doctor had filed a complaint with Mumbai's Malad police station after he found a piece of meat with a nail in an ice cream cone he ordered online. Following the doctor's complaint, police have filed a case against an unidentified Yumo employee under sections 272 (adulteration of food), 273 (sale of poisonous food or drink) and 336 (reckless or dangerous act endangering human life) of the Indian Penal Code.
