Russian authorities said three people had been killed in a Ukrainian drone and missile attack, a day after a bomb attack in Ukraine's second-largest city, Kharkiv, killed three people and sent dozens to hospital.
The Russian deaths included two people killed by falling shrapnel after five Ukrainian missiles were shot down in the port city of Sevastopol on the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula, the city's Moscow-appointed governor, Mikhail Razvozhayev, said, adding that 22 people were wounded.
Three Ukrainian drones attacked the town of Glyvoron in Russia's Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, killing one person and wounding three, the region's governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said.
The Russian Defense Ministry said its air defenses shot down 33 Ukrainian drones over the Bryansk, Smolensk, Lipetsk and Tula regions in the country's western region.

The attack came after Russia struck Kharkiv with four airstrikes on Saturday afternoon, hitting a five-story residential building and killing three people.
Regional Governor Oleh Shniekhbov said 41 people were injured and receiving treatment as of Sunday.
In a video address after the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Ukraine's partners to strengthen their air defenses.
“For Ukraine, we really need modern air defense systems like Patriot, accelerated training of F-16 fighter pilots, and most importantly, sufficient range of our weapons,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oreshchuk said two Russian missiles were shot down over the Kiev region last night, with falling shrapnel injuring two people.
