The sprawling Ladywalk mansion was purchased by Vijay Mallya in 2015, just months before he fled India to the UK. The 68-year-old billionaire is now an accused in a loan fraud case worth over Rs 9,000 crore and is being investigated by the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Vijay Mallya has purchased Ladywalk mansion in Hertfordshire from Anthony Hamilton, father of Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, and according to a 2021 Rediff report, the property has all the hallmarks of an owner belonging to the self-proclaimed “King of Good Times.”
The sprawling estate sits on 30 acres of land. The three-house complex includes multiple outbuildings, a pool, fountains, a tennis court, and a garage that's ill-equipped to accommodate Mallya's fleet of luxury cars.

According to various reports, Mallya purchased the Lady Walk estate for a whopping £11.5 million (more than $14 million). The property is one of many owned by the fugitive businessman. The heavily guarded Lady Walk estate has since undergone extensive renovation work over the past two years. Locals say that a succession of builders, architects, decorators and landscapers have visited the property since Mallya bought it.
In 2017, The Guardian's Rupert Neate travelled to Hertfordshire hoping to catch a glimpse of the reclusive billionaire, but his hopes were dashed when he spoke to locals about the billionaire's mansion.
Neate said the home is heavily secured with security cameras, wrought-iron gates and multiple security guards.

Villagers said the Mallya family had brought in a large number of vehicles and staff. “I don't know him and I've never met him but I have heard his helicopter fly overhead,” the owner of the local Tewin pub told Neat at the time.
