A new production created specifically for the full-dome format, “Dinosaurs: A Story of Survival,” will premiere at the Delta College Planetarium on Saturday, June 29th at 2pm.
After discovering an exoplanet outside our solar system in the show “Beyond the Sun,” Celeste, the smart, dreamy girl, returns to retrace the steps of the dinosaurs to tell the story of adaptation and survival of the creatures that dominated life on Earth for almost 200 million years. Celeste learns that not all dinosaurs are extinct and that there are many of them all around us.
Dinosaurs is an award-winning production by geologist, naturalist and filmmaker Javier Borrain and produced by Rendereria, the Madrid-based studio. The Spanish company gained international fame with its first film, Beyond the Sun, and is one of the few production companies specializing in this type of audiovisual production. Its shows are translated into 24 languages ​​and broadcast in more than 20 countries.
“Dinosaurs: A Tale of Survival” is a family-friendly show with a running time of 30 minutes. All performances are accompanied by a short follow-up presentation on the current night sky and hot topics. The show runs every Saturday, except July 6, from 2 p.m. through August 31. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-18, seniors, students and military. Tickets can be purchased online at delta.edu/calendar/planetarium or on-site.
