The apprentice bricklayer, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, went missing after trying to walk back to his accommodation after missing a bus in the north of the island.
Here are the main updates so far on the search for the 19-year-old player:
Sunday, June 16
Slater and friends attended the NRG music festival at the Papagayo nightclub in the tourist resort of Playa de las Americas in the south of the island.
Monday, June 17
Early Monday morning, he travels to an apartment in the north of the island with people he met during the night.
At 7:30 a.m., Slater posted a photo on Snapchat taken from the front door of his property, tagged it as being in Rural de Teno Park.
At 8.30am, he called his friend Lucy Loh to say he had missed the bus and was planning to walk back to his accommodation, but the journey would take more than 10 hours.
In a final, frantic phone call, Slater said he had “cut his foot” on a cactus and that he “didn't know where he was.”
Mr Law said his friend told him he was “lost in the mountains, unaware of his surroundings, desperate for something to drink and had 1 per cent battery left on his phone”.
Slater's cell phone battery quickly died and his last known location was Rural de Teno Park.
9:04 a.m. He was reported missing.
Tuesday, June 18
Local police and mountain rescue teams searched for Mr Slater in Rural de Teno Park after friends had searched unsuccessfully the previous day.
His family flew to Tenerife to join the search.
Wednesday, June 19
The search was briefly moved to the Los Cristianos area in the south of the island because there were potential clues there, but this was quickly ruled out and the search was returned to the north.
Mr Slater's mother, Debbie Duncan, said she feared her son had been “taken against his will”.
Thursday, June 20
The search returns to the Rural de Teno Park, around the village of Masca.
Rescue workers met at various locations throughout the day and combed through bush, overgrown land, hills and rivers but were unable to find the missing boy.
Friday, June 21
Spanish police have rejected an offer of assistance from Lancashire Police as the search continues.
Police, firefighters and search and rescue workers searched the village of Maska and a large area around it.
Search and rescue workers carefully combed through the dead palm trees that shaded the river at the bottom of the hill near the Airbnb accommodation where Slater was reportedly being taken in a car.
The landowner told reporters he saw Slater walking across his property but has not seen him since, and said he was concerned about the situation.
Saturday, June 22
On the sixth day of the search, Slater's mother pleaded directly with her missing son, saying: “I just want you to come home.”
Firefighters strapped on helmets and braved Tenerife's treacherous hills, and appear to have led much of the search effort.
The search party was noticeably smaller than on other days, with only a handful of emergency personnel visible in Maska village and the surrounding area.
Sunday, June 23
Searchers narrowed their search to a small building near where Slater's cell phone was last heard from.
Officers from the Canary Islands' Guardia Civil were seen surrounding two buildings at the bottom of a ravine in Rural de Teno park.
After several days of searching in and around Maska village, search efforts appeared to be focused on only one area.
Monday, June 24th The search for Mr Slater enters its eighth day.
