Today, The Travel Institute (TTI) launched its 11th annual Promote Your Professionalism (PYP) campaign, with applications open until July 2024.
The campaign aims to provide scholarships worth $299 to TTI’s Certified Travel Associate (CTA), Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) and Certified Travel Industry Executive (CTIE) programs and raise awareness about travel professional education.
Since the scholarship program's inception in 2014, TTI has awarded nearly 5,000 scholarships totaling more than $1 million. Providing travel industry education since 1964, the organization emphasizes quality, affordable education for travel professionals, regardless of travel agency affiliation or preferred supplier.
“For 60 years, our graduates have demonstrated that Travel Institute certification is truly important to their success in the industry,” said Diane Petras, CTIE President and Managing Director of the Travel Institute. “Whether they complete the CTA, CTC or CTIE program, or all three at different stages in their careers, our graduates leave with both useful travel knowledge and practical business skills to help them succeed every day.”

The certification curriculum includes real-world application and insights from industry executives delivered through a digital platform. Online peer groups and training coaches are also provided.
“The Travel Institute's educational programs are essential for travel advisors looking to improve the quality of their expertise and service,” said Angela Hughes, CTC, owner and president of Trips and Ships Luxury Travel. “The rigorous, up-to-date curriculum ensures advisors stay up to date with the latest industry trends, tools and best practices.”
As part of the PYP campaign, TTI will also be offering free online presentations in July, covering topics such as working with suppliers and travel partners, finding your niche in the travel industry and creating sustainable journeys.
“Simply put, our mission is the success of travel industry professionals,” says Guida Botelho, CTIE, senior director of education for The Travel Institute. “Our certification program was created to elevate professionalism in the industry. We remain a cornerstone of education in the industry today, continuing to develop better businesspeople who excel at serving travelers.”
