Travel agents and all tourism-related businesses can get accreditation from the tourism department at this year's TravelSales Expo, which will be held at SM Megamall from September 27 to 29. The event is organized by the World Tourism Business Association and OneClick Events.
GTBA Chair Michelle Taillant and DOT-NCR Executive Officer Ivannovic Agote formalized the partnership ahead of the travel expo, which will be held on June 20, 2024. “Being accredited by the Tourism Board is essential for the tourism industry as it improves quality, builds trust, enhances competitiveness, supports sustainable practices and ensures compliance with regulations,” Agote said. “It benefits both tourists and businesses by promoting a positive and trustworthy tourism experience.”
The GTBA also welcomed the Ministry's continued support for activities and projects focused on further professionalizing and developing the tourism and travel industry.
“We are pleased to have DOT participate in this year's Travel Sales Expo and welcome their efforts to promote ease of doing business in the travel industry,” said Tailang. “I encourage all stakeholders to take advantage of this opportunity to get certified and network through the event.”
“The TravelSale Expo is the perfect venue because all tourism-related businesses are already here and it acts as a one-stop-shop accreditation for travel agencies, accommodation, the F&B sector, amusement parks, etc,” Agote added.
