What do The Long Way Round, The Long Way Up and The Long Way Down have in common? They're all great examples of motorcycle adventure documentaries, but they get little to no time in the US.
These are great documentaries to watch if you need motivation to plan an epic bike trip, but for riders looking for something a bit more achievable and accessible, there's a new YouTube series called “Always Something.”
Always Something aims to be a raw, realistic series produced by Everything Empire and in partnership with Triumph Motorcycles, starring Ernie Vigil and Nick Borcha, known for their high-octane two-wheeled antics in stunt shows, film stunt riding and high-end production motorcycle showcase videos.
But Always Something takes young people out of their natural habitat, onto a range of Triumph bikes and accompanies them on an unscripted journey across all 50 states with no set plan in mind. Vigil and Borcia's goal is to highlight the diversity of the American landscape, local cultures and hidden gems, using only their own wits and the generosity of local riders.
There are no camera crews, no set itineraries, just hosts setting off on authentic adventures. In this age of endless information and GPS devices giving us fun directions from point A to point B, it's nostalgic to actually get out there and see what happens.
Everything Empire co-founder Ernie Vigil had this to say about the series:
We wanted to create something really different… “Always Something” is not just about bikes and stunts. It's about the essence of riding, exploring the far corners of the country and sharing the experiences with our viewers. It's about the journey, the people we meet and the amazing places we discover along the way.
What I love about the series' approach is that it gives you a first-hand look at what they think about the environment around them: cycle routes, local eateries, events, landscapes, etc. Always Something includes the places Vigil and Borcha have visited in the description of every video, creating a roadmap for your next domestic adventure.
The first four episodes of “Always Something” are already available on the Everything Empire YouTube channel, with two more episodes set to be released in the first season.
Be sure to check it out and let us know where you would like Vigil and Borcha to visit in the next series.
