Food recalls are issued when a product is found to be unsafe for consumers.
Retailer Iceland has warned that bags of rice sold in its branches contain undeclared allergens.

This affects people who are allergic to shellfish, fish, milk, and mollusks.

Iceland said: “We are recalling this date code as a precautionary measure as the above mentioned products may contain undeclared fish, crustaceans, mollusks or milk and therefore pose a potential risk to people with allergies to fish, crustaceans, mollusks or milk.”
“Only the expiration date stated in this notification is affected.” This poses a significant risk for people with allergies or intolerances to the allergens listed.
Symptoms of a milk allergy include an itchy rash, facial swelling, and vomiting. People who have an intolerance to fish may also experience similar symptoms.
The supermarket added: “If you have bought any of the above products please do not eat them. Instead please follow the instructions below and check to see if you have bought any of the affected products.”
“Just return it to any Iceland store and we'll give you a full refund. No receipt needed.”

It comes after Marks and Spencer rushed to remove children's products from its shelves due to them being a choking hazard.
The toys have been removed from the shelves by Just Play Products.
Manufacturer Just Play Products wrote: “Please be advised that the CocoMelon JJ Interactive Learning Doll is being recalled due to the following manufacturing defect.
“If a child presses against the doll's seams with enough force, the stitching can come undone, allowing access to the stuffing inside.
“Removing this padding could pose a choking hazard.”
