Culinary travel guide TasteAtlas has released its top 10 list of best and worst rated Indian dishes for June 2024. However, netizens are not happy that thandai, malpua and gajak are among the worst rated items.

India is known for its diverse culinary culture and each region of the country has a wealth of options to satisfy every palate. Many foodies from around the world enjoy exploring Indian cuisine and are amazed by its unique tastes. Recently, online food portal TasteAtlas released a list of “Best to Worst Rated Indian Dishes”, ranking Mango Lassi, Chai and Butter Garlic Naan as the highest rated dishes. However, the “Worst Rated Indian Dishes” list sparked outrage among netizens.
Mango lassi, chai masala, butter garlic naan, Amritsari kulcha and butter chicken round out the top five highest rated Indian dishes respectively, along with Hyderabadi biryani (6th), shahi paneer (7th), chole bhatule (8th), tandoori chicken (9th) and korma (10th).

Taste Atlas's Top Rated Indian Cuisine
In its ranking of the worst rated Indian dishes, Taste Atlas has given jal jeera, a North Indian summer drink, the first place with 2.7 stars. Other dishes on the list are gajak, thengai sadam (South Indian coconut rice), panta bhat, aloo baingan, thandai, achappam (Kerala rose cookies), mirchi ka salan, malpua and upma. However, users are completely disagreeing with the list and have requested Taste Atlas to revise the selection.
The comments section is flooded with rebuttals, with netizens asking, “Who made the list?” “Guys, actually ask Indians to rate the dishes,” said one user.
