All-rounder Hardik Pandya was in tears after the Indian team defeated South Africa by seven runs on Sunday in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Pandya, who faced booing and trolling during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, shared a heartwarming post after the World Cup win.
The viral video shows a young Pandya along with his brother Krunal Pandya. “Our dream is to play for Baroda and India,” says Pandya, who was a teenager at the time.
As the video progresses, Pandya is seen greeting fans at the Kensington Oval Stadium in Barbados with the national flag wrapped around his arm, before the camera cuts to Rishabh Pant handing over the T20 World Cup trophy to Pandya as Arijit Singh's “Lehra Do” plays in the background.
“Just a boy from Baroda living the dream and grateful for everything that has come my way. I couldn't ask for more. Playing for my country is always the greatest honour,” he wrote on X.
