Spanish private equity fund BeAble Capital has invested €174,000 in Ecogranular, a spin-off from the University of Granada. The technology aims to transfer wastewater treatment, reduce water usage and operating costs, and improve water quality.
One of the biggest challenges facing cities is to optimally manage wastewater treatment and minimize energy consumption while reducing environmental impact.
Ecogranular has developed a new technology that enables the continuous use of granular biomass for the first time. This will greatly facilitate implementation at water treatment plants.
This technology minimizes biomass loss within the bioreactor and reduces sludge production. It also saves time and resources.
BeAble Capital invests in disruptive deep science technologies that are scalable and aligned with the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
said Almudena Trigo, President and Founding Partner of BeAble Capital.
“It is a long process with very high quality standards to ensure that we are producing innovative, profitable and sustainable solutions. The development of science-based industrial enterprises is complex and We need the support of specialized investors who can detect innovative technologies like this.” ”
