Technology entrepreneur Dr. R. Erdem Erkul has been appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea in Sivas. Mr. Erkul received the certificate of appointment from Yondu Chung, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Turkiye, in a ceremony held at the embassy in Ankara.
Mr. Erkul expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Chung for entrusting him with this mission on behalf of the Republic of Korea, and said that since diplomatic relations were first established in 1957, the relationship between the two countries has grown closer each year. He said he is proud to contribute to the development of commercial and cultural relations between the two countries, drawing on the professional experience gained working in non-governmental organizations and leading international private companies. .
Erkul is a respected technology entrepreneur known for his work with non-governmental organizations in the Republic of Turkiye and South Korea and for his work for the development of the technology sector.
From 2014 to 2018, Mr. Erkul served as Director and Public Relations Officer at South Korean technology giant Samsung Electronics Turkye, where he participated in various R&D and innovation projects between the two countries.
Erkul founded Cerebrum Tech, a new generation technology company, in 2021, and one of the company's six offices around the world is located in Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea. He is also currently serving his second term as Chairman of the Digital Technology Business Council of the External Economic Relations Committee (DEIK).
