TripAdvisor released its Summer Travel Index last week, revealing the most popular summer destinations in the U.S. and around the world.

AAA said this year will be a busy Memorial Day holiday on the roads and skies. They looked at travel bookings to find out what the top 10 destinations are this year in the U.S. and around the world.
So whether you want to relax on the beach, tour a majestic castle, enjoy heart-pounding thrill rides or simply get outdoors and enjoy nature, there's something for everyone .
Americans and travelers around the world are just itching to travel and get on a plane. In fact, his Summer 2024 Travel Index on TripAdvisor found that despite cost concerns, people are planning to travel as much or more than they did last summer.
But where is everyone going? According to TripAdvisor, Americans are traveling for more adventure, entertainment, and sporting events.

Federal aviation's new rules for delayed passengers
The Department of Transport has announced new consumer protections for air passengers whose domestic flights are delayed for more than three hours. The top domestic and international travel destinations are not that surprising.

The list also includes that.
According to TripAdvisor, the top 10 fastest-growing domestic destinations among U.S. travelers include California's Yosemite National Park (No. 1), Ohio's Sandusky (No. 8) and Michigan. This includes the state's Mackinac Island (ranked 10th).

Several Florida communities made the list, including Santa Rosa Beach (No. 3), Fort Myers Beach (No. 6) and Tavernier in the Florida Keys.
A second national park, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, also made it into the top 10.
The U.S. territories of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands ranked among the top 10 international destinations for U.S. travelers, as did European destinations such as Puerto Rico in Spain and Peru in South America.
Maldivian destinations such as Irufushi, Male and Fasmendhoo also made it into the top 10.
