An Irish couple who make travel videos recently took a ride on the Delhi Metro and shared their experience on Instagram. In the now-viral video, the couple clears up some misconceptions about the metro's facilities.
Isabel Geraghty and Colin Finnty called the Delhi Metro “the best subway ever.” The incident began at security. The ticket window was closed for maintenance, but the couple used an electronic ticket machine and split the 30 rupee ticket price.
“I've never seen a metro station so quiet in my life,” said Geraghty. The two showed off the Delhi Metro's many amenities, from air-conditioned carriages to charging sockets and special seats for senior citizens and women passengers. Near the end of the video, she noticed a sign that read, “Please do not reel.”
While sharing the video, the couple wrote, “We were apprehensive about whether using the metro in a major Indian city was a good idea due to some misconceptions about Delhi that foreigners might hear and the fact that the metro in general is something to be wary of as a tourist in any country.”
“Needless to say, we were blown away by what we found here. Delhi Metro is the smoothest, safest and cleanest metro we've seen in any city we've visited. Not to mention it's cheap,” the caption read.

I was expecting a huge crowd! I especially liked the ladies only carriages! I will definitely ride the Delhi Metro!!” Another wrote, “It was never this quiet when I rode it. It was total chaos!”
“Reels is definitely not for reels like this. This is due to much bigger issues that are starting to cause trouble for the public,” a third user responded.
