People who love to travel need help to balance their time between work and travel. To achieve their travel goals, many people quit their day jobs to start businesses. In a similar case, a couple quit their day jobs to travel the world. They both left their careers in finance.
Tiffany Baker, 38, and Mark Baker, 40, quit their jobs to travel the world. Both were previously in finance. In 2019, the couple decided to quit their jobs to travel. They said they wanted to live life on their own terms. Tiffany and Mark are also accompanied by their three daughters. They also have daughters Juletta, 9, Penelope, 7, and Delia, 6. To be able to travel freely without time constraints, the couple pulled their daughters out of school and started teaching them at home.
Tiffany and Mark have already traveled to many countries. The couple recently went on a month-long voyage that took them to 21 countries and 50 ports. They also visited Australia, Spain, Africa, and Singapore.
According to Tiffany, their work could have been more balanced and they hated getting permission to go on trips. Traveling without taking time off didn't work for them. Their daughters also couldn't take time off school. Speaking about the decision, Tiffany said, “We quit our jobs, pulled our kids out of school and made our dreams come true. We teach our kids at home.”
To make money, the couple runs a real estate business, selling houses. They have sold 50 houses in the last five years. She said, “The people who bought our houses also gave us the opportunity to rent them out, which has brought in a decent income. This is how we earn around Rs 1.6 lakh every month.”
They are currently preparing for their next trip. In December this year, they will go to Prague in the Czech Republic to see the Christmas markets. After that, they will go to France and then take a cruise. The trip is expected to cost them Rs 5.6 million. The total amount includes food, drinks and stay on the ship. Talking about money, Mark said, “We have worked hard for the last 12 months to complete the planning of our international trip.”
