New Jersey commuters can expect delays traveling to and from New York City this week, with long lines possible at Newark Liberty International Airport.
According to a press statement from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, several lanes on the George Washington Bridge, Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel, Bayonne Bridge and Goethals Bridge will be closed from June 14 through June 20.
Currently, approximately 36 million vehicles cross the Goethals Bridge each year.
The Port Authority is advising all travelers to allow extra time due to the closure.
Newark Airport is also experiencing delays as the TSA replaces screening technology in the airport's Terminal B. Longer wait times at security are expected, and the Port Authority is recommending that travelers departing from that terminal arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure.
