The price difference between the two modes of transportation is small, and Khushi Suri claims that she saved a lot of time by paying an extra $30 for the helicopter ride.

Suri, an employee at Kleiner Perkins, shared screenshots showing the difference in price and time between taking an Uber and a Blade helicopter. The screenshots show she wanted to travel from Manhattan to John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, a distance of 18 miles. Both Manhattan and Queens are boroughs of New York City.

An Uber ride for Suri cost $131.99 (Rs 11,000) for an hour-long trip, while a Blade helicopter ride from Manhattan to John F. Kennedy Airport cost $165 for five minutes.
“60 minutes by Uber, 5 minutes by helicopter. Literally $30 difference,” Suri wrote on X, tagging Blade Air Mobility. Her post has been viewed more than 4 million times and is going viral.

When asked whether she chose Uber or a helicopter, Suri simply shared an aerial photo of New York City, suggesting she chose the latter.

Blade Air Mobility is a New York City-based airline that primarily uses helicopters on passenger routes. The company offers helicopter service between Manhattan and JFK, and customers can reserve helicopter seats through the Blade app.
In the comments section, Suri explained that she messaged Blade founder Rob Wiesenthal on Instagram about five years ago and has been a fan of the company ever since. She explained that Blade users receive discount codes for referrals, and shared her own code for anyone who wanted $50 off their first Blade helicopter ride.
