The Astrogate mod for Starfield provides autopilot and remote takeoff, making space travel more comfortable. Different modes available for the autopilot make long cutscenes during the journey less painful. Fan-made mods and new updates improve Starfield and make it more immersive for players.
A new mod for Starfield makes space travel as easy as players have always hoped. One of the things players were most excited about in Starfield was space travel. While the game touts the ability to visit thousands of different planets, neither of these elements lived up to players' expectations. Traveling can be difficult, especially when each part of flying through space requires several cutscenes before it even begins. Thankfully, mods help make traveling less painful and more immersive than everyone originally hoped.
Space travel is finally a comfortable experience for Starfield fans, thanks to RealityIDR from Nexus Mods. Called Astrogate, the mod features a variety of options and modes for navigating the spaceship. The autopilot feature allows players to step away from the controls and walk around the spaceship while it is steered to a point of their choosing.
“Supercruise” allows players to automatically set the speed of their spaceship so it will cruise at that speed without any input from the player. Finally, “Ground Landing and Takeoff” allows players to remotely take off and land their spaceship. All of this combines to make space travel in Starfield smooth and streamlined.

Astrogate Mod Makes Starfield Space Travel Much Easier
Functions such as autopilot and remote isolation landing are very necessary
Other aspects of the Astrogate mod include different modes of autopilot. While on autopilot, players can choose between standard, intersystem, and distance. Standard allows autopilot between a planet and its moons. The spaceship will automatically stop once it is within range of a planet or moon, allowing the player to remote land the spaceship. Intersystem takes players between star systems, ensuring the player is piloting the spaceship before jumping to another system. Distance mode allows players to manually input the distance they wish to travel, and will perform a gravitational jump within a few seconds.
These issues with space travel have been a frustration for players since the beginning, and the mod RealityIDR has created will likely please many. The time it takes to board a spaceship, sit at the controls, and finally take off is too long for many, with cutscenes for each step. Being able to take off remotely removes that time in between, and ultimately makes travel between settlement systems much faster and more enjoyable. This mod could be one of the best mods ever created for Starfield, as it addresses one of the main criticisms of the game:
Although Starfield didn't live up to expectations, new updates, upcoming DLC, and fan-made mods are making the game what players expected it to be from the beginning. Thanks to a major update released in May, more features and bug fixes have been added, greatly improving the quality of life in Starfield for players. Hopefully, Bethesda will continue to focus on making the world even more immersive and listen to fan feedback to make the necessary changes.
