Earlier this week, Indian authorities arrested a man at Delhi airport after he tried to board a flight to Canada while disguised as an elderly person.
According to the Indian newspaper The Tribune, the 24-year-old passenger had disguised his appearance in an attempt to pass himself off as an older man.
He was stopped by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at the Indira Gandhi Airport on Tuesday evening, where he had reportedly been booked on an Air Canada flight.
The Tribune noted that the man's behaviour was “suspicious” to CISF personnel.
He presented his passport to authorities and identified himself as Rashbinder Singh Sahota, a 67-year-old man.
The officers noticed something suspicious about his appearance and quickly noticed that he looked much younger than the man in the passport photo he provided.

“On closer observation, we found that he had dyed his hair and beard white and was wearing glasses to make him look older,” a CISF official told The Tribune.
A CISF post on X said the passenger was suspected of being involved in “human trafficking and identity theft”. [and] He was using false documents and trying to travel as an elderly person.”
Officers questioned the passenger further and searched his mobile phone, where they found a photo of the actual passport. Delhi Police arrived and took the passenger into custody.
