Nigerian politician and social media influencer MR jollof @mr.jollof_ calls out afrobeat singer wizkid @wizkidayo for calling him a house help and also a man who is unfit to take care of his family because the politician once asked for help from him .
The whole issue began when the afrobeat singer wizkid took to Instagram to announce his tour with singer Davido @davido . The announcement which was suppose to be an exciting one, sparked a lot of controversy online as most fans and supporters expressed some disapproval due to singer wizkids lingering unsatisfactory behaviour online and not showing up to shows like the one he intentionally missed in Ghana.
The afrobeat singer also took to Instagram during the yuletides to shade African artists saying * rap is dead * That singular statement offended a lot of his fan base because it was said that singer wizkid started from the streets of Lagos Nigeria .. just as the politician stated in his video, that the singer made it to stardom from the hood and since then has mocked other singers trying to make ends meet .. This upsetting behaviour made fans relinquish their support as it was becoming a trend that the singer takes to his Instagram and Snapchat social platforms , to insult , tarnish and demean the art of other Nigerian upcoming artists and when called upon for support, ignores everyone forgetting he started like every other artist in their humble beginnings. Lots of rap artists in Nigeria made different posts online to indulge singer Wizkid that rap isn’t dead and there are many rappers in the country doing well. The singer continued shading his fans as he stated that he gave them 48hours and no one was serious enough to come up with a good rap song.
As such the public had mixed feelings about his tour with Davido , as many saw it as a means of him trying to get redemption by joining Davido who everyone is eager to see and listen to. Different opinions and social media influencers believed it was Wizkid trying to use Davido to restore the glory of his brand, art and music which is becoming tasteless to the fans, as it was said that his last album .. *More love less ego* , had no song that made a hit in parties or club , thus resulting to fans having a soar taste for his music , as some opinions believed he didn’t practice what he preached by naming the album *more love and less ego * as he kept taking to Instagram and other social platforms to insult his fans. More so he continued the demeaning behaviour in his post while announcing the tour.. as he referred to his “fans” as kids and added they should keep their coins /Pennie’s .
All of this comments made by singer Wizkid sparked an outrage that caught the attention of the politician calling him out on his behaviour of being proud . However he continued the demeaning behaviour by insulting his one time politician friend and fan “Mr Jollof ” as he caption on an instagram and snapchat post that the politician is a house help , beggar and can’t feed his home .
This action has made news media , blogs and different platforms worry about the extent to which this could go .
