The Muhlenberg College Institute for Public Opinion (MCIPO) has once again been recognized as the nation’s leading polling organization. In an overall evaluation of 516 polling organizations, MCIPO received an A-; only 21 organizations received an A+, A, or A- rating. This places MCIPO in the top 4% of polling organizations nationwide, ranking it above organizations at Brown University, Franklin and Marshall College, Harvard University, and the Pew Research Center.
These rankings, published by Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight, are based on a variety of factors, including historical accuracy, transparency in methodology, and ability to consistently predict election outcomes.
MCIPO conducts public opinion research at the local, state, and national levels. Since its founding in 2001, MCIPO has focused on measuring public opinion on elections and public policy issues, with an emphasis on environmental and health issues.
MCIPO Founder and Director Christopher Bolick, a professor of political science, has conducted over 350 large-scale public opinion polls and engaged over 650 students in research over the past 20 years. As a nationally recognized researcher, he is frequently interviewed by local, national, and international media.
