Inspired by a lifelong love of nature and a deep curiosity about the world, owner Kelly J. Boyd opened Ordinary Magic in 2019. The shop's name reflects her belief in finding magic in the everyday.
“Ordinary Magic thrives thanks to our loyal customers, supportive community and dedicated staff, and our fifth anniversary is a testament to the store's role in fostering connection and spiritual exploration in Savannah,” said Kelly Boyd, founder of Ordinary Magic.

Judge Realty recently partnered with Hospice Savannah to encourage and support seniors to live in the places they know through strategic home modifications. Judge Realty is working with Hospice Savannah's CAPABLE+ program to help seniors receive strategic supports to help them live independently.
Judge Realty, a leading commercial, residential and property management company headquartered in Savannah, is proud to partner with Hospice Savannah to encourage and support seniors in living in their own homes. Judge Property Management, a division of Judge Realty, is partnering with Hospice Savannah's CAPABLE+ program to help seniors live independently with strategic support in the privacy of their own home.
“We are honored to partner with Savannah Hospice to help local seniors age in place,” said Lori Judge, founder and CEO of Judge Realty. “We want to do everything we can to help seniors in our area live independently for as long as possible.”
Hospice Savannah's CAPABLE program provides a support team, including registered nurses, occupational therapists and handymen, to visit seniors in their homes to provide limited care, reducing hospitalizations and lowering health care costs. The standard CAPABLE program is offered as a free service to low-income individuals age 62 and older in Chatham, Bryan, Effingham and Liberty counties who have normal cognitive abilities but have some difficulty bathing, dressing, grooming, eating and walking.
The CAPABLE+ program is available as a fee-based service to adults age 55 and older and is offered in partnership with Judge Property Management.
In a population of older adults who participated in the CAPABLE program, 75% of older adults improved their self-care abilities over a five-month period. The average program participant experienced a decrease in the number of self-care tasks they needed help with and a reduction in their symptoms of depression.
To enroll in the CAPABLE or CAPABLE+ program in the greater Savannah area, send an email to [email protected] Please include your client's name, date of birth, phone number, and address, and a Hospice Savannah team member will contact you to conduct an eligibility screening over the phone.

Erica Davis, Bilingual Community Outreach Specialist, Forsyth Farmers Market
Forsyth Farmers Market, the largest farmers market in South Georgia, recently hired Erica Davis, a native Spanish speaker, as the nonprofit’s bilingual community outreach specialist, highlighting the market’s efforts to expand outreach efforts within the local Latino community.
In her new role, Davis will provide culturally appropriate translation, interpretation and support services to the Forsyth Farmers Market and work to increase Hispanic participation in the nonprofit's community-focused education programs. A native of the Dominican Republic, Davis earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Santo Domingo Catholic University. Prior to joining Forsyth Farmers Market, she worked as a property management assistant and housing compliance specialist in Maryland.
“We are excited to welcome Erika to our team and appreciate her support in expanding access to fresh, locally grown foods to Spanish-speaking people in the greater Savannah area,” said Tina Sachs, interim executive director of Forsyth Farmers Market. “We are committed to ensuring everyone in our community has access to healthy, affordable food and supporting our local farmers.”
According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2020 Census, there are approximately 10,000 people who identify as Hispanic or Latino in the city of Savannah, Georgia, and 23,790 in Chatham County. The Forsyth Farmers Market seeks to engage the Latino community through its weekly Farmers Market in Forsyth Park, its mobile Farm Truck 912, or through educational programs.
In 2023, Forsyth Farmers Market saw more than 150 Hispanic participants in its popular Food Farmacy, a free program that addresses health disparities and promotes wellness by using fresh produce as medicine to help mitigate chronic diseases caused by diet. With the addition of participants who are fluent in Spanish, Forsyth Farmers Market hopes to make an even bigger impact within the Latino community in 2024.
