International Investment Update: US CPI inflation data for June is due out today.
Global market investors are closely watching the release of the US CPI data for June as persistently high inflation could prompt the US Federal Reserve to hike interest rates, furthering the rate-cut scenario.

According to PropTiger, home sales in the top eight cities fell 6 percent in April-June compared to the previous quarter, as builders and investors became cautious ahead of India’s Lok Sabha elections. The real estate brokerage platform, part of REA India, which owns Housing.com, released its quarterly data on housing demand and supply on Thursday. The data showed that home sales fell to 113,768 units from 120,642 units in the January-March quarter. However, there was a notable increase in home sales, which rose 42 percent from 80,245 units in the same period last year.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a petition on July 11 against the alleged leaking of answer sheets and cheating in the National Eligibility Test for University Admissions – Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024. The government has filed an affidavit against the re-examination, citing an Indian Institute of Technology Madras report which denies allegations of widespread cheating and malpractice in some centres. “There is no indication of large-scale cheating nor any advantage to a particular group of candidates which would lead to unusual scores,” the report provided by a team of experts from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, attached to the centre’s affidavit, said.
