Jammu and Kashmir Police issues advisory for Amarnath Hajj pilgrims
Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday issued an advisory for the 52-day annual Amarnath pilgrimage, with the first convoy leaving on Friday morning.
According to the advisory, “No tourists or traffic will be allowed through Naviyug Tunnel towards Kashmir after 1500 hours (3 pm)”. Similarly, “The last vehicle passing through Walnut Factory, Qazigund towards Naviyug Tunnel must pass by 1730 hours (5.30 pm)”. The advisory asks passersby and tourists to “travel in the Kashmir Valley between 7 am and 6 pm”. The advisory states, “No further movement will be allowed after 1800 hours and vehicles will be directed towards the nearest Naviyug Tunnel or security force camps”.
Seven arrive in Delhi to press for “solution” from central government, a day after state legislators make representations in meeting with Manipur Chief Minister
As the Parliamentary session continued, a delegation of NDA legislators from Manipur arrived in Delhi on Friday to urge the central leadership to resolve the ongoing ethnic conflict in the state, according to information obtained by The Indian Express.
At least seven state legislators from the BJP and its ally, the Naga People's Front, arrived in the national capital on Friday, official sources said, a day after Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh presided over a meeting with NDA state legislators, excluding the 10 Khukizomi legislators, which he said was to “discuss the current situation in the state.” Those in attendance included state legislators from the BJP, NPF, NPP and JDU.
